I forget who this was but was talking with someone on here that was making a tutorial to be printed in Breakthrough magazine. He said once it was printed he would share on taxinet. Anyone remember who this was? Wondering if it got printed yet too. Thank you

George The older I get, the better I was.

Methinks you're mistaken. Jean Lavalee had one on doing a LOBSTER and I've had one on doing blue crabs, but I don't recall ever seeing anyone talking about crawfish. They're easier to buy freezedried and then paint them.

To mount a crawfish, first place several live crawfish in a gallon jug of denatured alcohol. They can stay in there til you are ready to mount them. When you are ready to mount one, remove it from the alcohol, separate the tail from the torso. Remove the tail meat and the contents of the torso. Fill each with hot glue and re-attach. Card into position, and seal with white glue. Let dry for a few days. Airbrush to the desired color. Any legs or claws can be easily re-attached with super glue. Each one takes about 5 minutes to do, and they are great to enhance aquatic habitats.

    The way..........

The way I do it: I separate the tail from the body and clean out the insides of the tail and the body. I take the claws apart and clean the meat from those. I place all the sections in alcohol for a couple of days and then pack with critter clay and wires for support. I put a wire in the claws with critter clay. Position the way you want it and let dry.
