    Ed Andersen’s November 2014 Workshop!

Back for a little fun Mr. Ed Andersen from Merrimac MA pursue with passion his education in reproduction fishwork at Anglers Artistry! Ed’s workshops are always a blast for us here as a fellow New Englander as well a old salt Ed’s November workshop seems to have gone by in about 5 minutes! Ed tackled the Black Crappie and his first Largemouth Bass! Way to go Ed!

As the holiday approaches this is our last workshop of the year! Mr. Shane Osborn of Cedar City Utah came out once again to work on some fish and enjoy a little time back in old New Hampshire! Shane worked on the traditional aspects of body carving and fish mounting with a pedestal Book Trout! While here Shane took some time to visit some historical sites, eat great food and have a wonderful week with us! It was so great to see Shane once again and here’s to a great 2015!

    Congratulations Shane!

Re: ANGLERS ARTISTRY RECENT STUDENT WORK 2006-2012!

I am known to some as a fish taxidermist, to others a friend or even to my wife and daughter just Dad… good enough I think it is to be know as all. I read of floods, and tornados tearing a part the south and mid west, I know of other folks in other parts going through some sort of weather wrath too and it makes me wonder how real their stress is right now. Doesn’t seem like Christmas if you’re in a shelter or sump pumping out your basement? This is a reason to remember the true meaning of Christmas. No gift, nor card with cleaver writings of a wordsmith working somewhere writing cards, could ever say enough to change the hearts of the broken hearted. What would we give to have one minute back of the most real of memories of a day gone by that was your best Christmas! Remember that day? How old were you? Where were you then that Christmas? Why was it the best for you? All questions for you to ponder if you like.

I have been blessed myself and the gift I have is one that I value. My family Kathie, Amber, my friends and all of the people who inspire me including you! Believe it or not people have tried to take this gift from me, or have me look away from it, but everyone is human and as long as you stay true to the path in your life - you’ll get there! I want to say thank you to one and all for the friendship and the love you freely share with me! It is not for everyone, so I was told many times in my life, but I believe in people even when the times and days look dark remember even that one day when the light shines again it will be the best as you have hoped!

Merry Christmas (we can still say it here in New Hampshire mind you) and for those around the world Happy Holidays and blessing to you all!

OK some free DVDs go to the Anglers Artistry site after midnight Christmas Eve and you’ll see them (two of them this year). Chris Zecco our producer and web master has loaded them up for you and has even shared a video instruction if you have any issues downloading them to see. It is not much but it is a part of me I can share with you!

    My Best!
    Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas

Re: ANGLERS ARTISTRY RECENT STUDENT WORK 2006-2012!

The Anglers Artistry 2014 A Year In Review…

Anglers Artistry has been more to me then a company where fish taxidermy has been offered since 1984. It has been an opportunity for folks from beginners to World Champions alike to come and share some time working on personal passion all awhile-creating memories for both of us that last a lifetime.

This has been a family for along time where folks reach across the country and the world and share experiences and adventures all because they share in the same passions! A network of knowledge and like-minded folks who are motivated to learn more in some cases, to reach for the top competitive honors for others and even to just embark on a journey that will afford a person a life long hobby wrapped in what they love to do in creating fish displays! Traditional taxidermists, fishcarvers, even the occasional sculptor and flat artist, all which have give me a opportunity to know them a little bit and some a whole lot! Thank you!

Here are several photos of the folk who shared their lives with Kathie and I this past year! I hope the friends and family of those who shared their time and friendship with us have fun looking at some of the photos! I threw in a few of the special event photos like our annual cook out, some friend and food get-together’s and even our very special Guess Masters workshop! I hope you enjoy the talent and the passion of some truly great folks!

I want to thank some great folks for sharing their lives with the Krane’s and Anglers Artistry!

    The Class of 2014!
Ed Andersen of Massachusetts, Chris Hixson of Michigan, George Reed of Vermont, Todd Szymaszek of Connecticut, Jeff Steely of Massachusetts, Dave King of Vermont, Anya Gorzynski of Michigan, Paul M. Gery of California, James Neuhaus of Texas, Jason Vanhillo of Massachusetts, Tim Walker of Ney York, Dave Whitney of New York of the USMC , Nick Glorioso of New York and the USAF, Garvice Thomas of Georgia, Guest Instructor Vincent Fleming of North Carolina, Paul Reynolds of Maine, Wayne Rodd of Massachusetts, Guest Instructor Richard Christoforo of Massachusetts, Ryan Coffin of Maine, Steve Pucko of Massachusetts, Doug Hawthorn of Massachusetts and last but not least Shane Osborn of Utah!

Re: ANGLERS ARTISTRY RECENT STUDENT WORK 2006-2012!

A Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday to all the Anglers Artistry Family Members!

I hope you enjoy the Free DVD airing for the next 24 hours and I think you all for being a part of my life!

For so many of us the thought of Christmas and the holidays brings feelings of stress and chaos for good reason. It sure has lost it true meaning and the memories of days gone bye. Will you be spending time with family or will you be out and about visiting here and there? Life in New Hampshire (at least in Cheshire country) there is plenty of opportunities to still feel the meaning of Christmas. I still hear a lot of pleases and thank you, the occasional yes sir or good day mam, a young fella holds a door open for a cackle of ladies (well that’s what my Grandfather called-em) and a new husband looking baffled and dumfounded about what to buy his bride. Yes my friends a day gone by so it seems. Ipad, cell phones, to add to the convenience of more stress as now you can’t even spend time in the privy with out hearing some one talk-in to some one while taking care of the necessaries! Different times we sure live in!

I sure miss my Grandparents both gone now, my Great Grandmother, my aunt and my Dad even though I didn’t really know him other then stories and tales. Each year I live I loss some one else I know and this time of the year it makes me think one day I’ll be that some one too. So while I’m still here I think it is best that I tell you how much you all mean to me! I get to write a line or two from time to time and folks take their time to read it so I want to write a line or two worth reading (I sure hope).

I am known to some as a fish taxidermist, to others a friend or a even to my wife and daughter just Dad… good enough I think it is to be know at all. I read of floods, and tornados tearing a part the south and mid west, I know of other folks in other parts going through some sort of weather wrath too and it makes me wonder how real their stress is right now. Doesn’t seam like Christmas if you’re in a shelter or sump pumping out your basement? This is a reason to remember the true meaning of Christmas. No gift, not card with cleaver writings of a wordsmith working some where writing cards, could ever say enough to change the hearts of the broken hearted. What would we give to have one minute back of the most real of memories of a day gone by that was your best Christmas! Remember that day? How old were you? Where were you then that Christmas? Why was it the best for you? All questions for you to ponder if you like.

    Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas
    Rick Krane

As an instructor and a taxidermist I want to share what inspired me to be a teacher and taxidermist. We all have mentors and walk a path to learning ( I hope each and every day. For some of us we forget our past but it is our past that lets us be inserted and to grow as a student. I will always be a student and a learn of what we all love to do as taxidermists. I had the opportunity to be a part of the Carl E Akeley celebration and event and what a opportunity for learning. I typically write and share what students learn but this time I want to share what I learned. Here is the link to several photos and a my thoughts of a man who insured many including me. There are many revelations that laws us to learn but this man gave us so much including the modern manikin.

Thanks you for letting me share and be a instructor of taxidermy.

Re: ANGLERS ARTISTRY RECENT STUDENT WORK 2006-2012!

It is a hard thing to write about the loss of a friend. I'm have never been short for words but I sit here very deep in thought and in memory about my friend Sam and his family. I have been traveling and returned to prepare to see my friend Sam and now I realizes that this will not be. Im so saddened and sorry! As a teacher it is natural to stick up a friendship as I have with many over they years but a few leave a mark on your place where those who can do. Sam was not only a Anglers Artistry member he was a friend to my family.

We were working on a project which is my honor now to complete gratefully! I'm so very sad as I sit here as man thinking of the great jury Sam takes to the promise of a seat at the table! I know he will be loved and here missed!

My prayers go out to the entire family of Sam Carrafiello. Laurie God holds him near and dear now!
