Fairly slow to terrible here in Minnesota. Some of the guys I've talked to are down over 50% from last year and last year wasn't the best. I'm glad I had a good bear season. Deer herd is down and the weather conditions didn't help. Still a couple weeks of muzzle loader season, but that's never been a big deal in terms of trophies for me. On a positive note, it's been cold and the lakes are iceing over so winter fishing may make up for the poor deer season. As soon as th ice is thick enough the fishermen will be out.
  2. 45 Shoulder mounts so far, 80plus Euros, 13 bears since spring, a few yotes, Foxes, 2 elk, and NJ Bear opens in less than 2 weeks. Figuring on another 15 bears if the last few years are any indication. People, Euros are a PITA, however, like mike said, great money and they get people through the shop door! I did 185 last yr @ $110 each, It's a no brainer for me!

12 more european mounts than this time last year and about 35 less shoulder mounts than this time last year.

My "drop off season " has been great! Most of my customers seem to have dropped off the face of the plannet! LOL!

Archery season take, up, all the way till firearms season, then for firearms about same as last year on shoulder mounts. Euros way down? Don't like em, but as stated, easy money.

Really well and cannot complain. Maybe more than I can handle this year.

The mear idea of skull mounts turns my stomach but you have to be crazy to not do them. Never let your competition line their pockets with money you could be earning. Like many said it pays a whole lot of freight in a shop.

I know some guys that would be out of business if it wasn`t for their skull work. Take all you can get.

This year is very slow, almost scary. The price shoppers are even saying it would be after Christmas before they have anything done. I guess Obamacare is making people hold some money back for whatever may come. I don't get many euros, too many kids in at the meat processors doing it for $75 a pop.

Same boat as Matt, i'm about to rip my hair out lol!!! Around 60 shoulder mounts, 20 euros or so...and ducks, yeah I haven't even counted...easily 30+. Reached my max on coyotes, that would be 15....no more lol!!

My area got hit hard by EHD last year. I didn't feel it much last year and maxed out, but this year my take is way down. I doubt I'll max out, but you never know. I don't take in any deer during the Michigan firearms deer season and just instruct people to freeze them down and call me after Dec. 1 to schedule bringing them in to me. I may get a bunch in yet, but I'm not optometrist.

REALLY SLOW lately! Have hunters from California & Louisiana I usually crate & ship in September so they're happy in December & when they went to their S. Texas Ranch & came up nada.....well................S. Texas is green and not good hunting.............but I think every year 'how am I gonna make it?' and a goose lays a golden egg.

Don't get me wrong, we have plenty of work coming in, but i'm a greed monster & need more!!! LOL It'll all work out in the wash :)

Got 12 capes I bought, a few shoulders, bunch of euro's, lots of tans & 2 lifesize predators to get ready for the Mexicans tomorrow so I guess there's no reason to frown :)

For those that are slow do not feel bad, almost everyone we network with is in the same boat. Some as much as 60% off. These things happen and God willing we all make it out unscathed.

Keep your chin up and don`t be discouraged, things always have a way of working out.

Had 137 shoulder mounts last year.......I'm at 56 right now....expect another 10 to 20 but there's NO WAY I'm gonna get what I had last season. I had 2 front page articles in our newspapers the week before and a television interview last season , I am SURE that's what put me at such a high # last season. Here in Michigan EVERYONE I've talked to is way down. Curtis is probably up lol ;)
  17. Off 50% here from last year, going to be a lean year. Between EHD and Killing all the does what can we expect, and here is another report I got 40% of all antlerless deer in Indiana checked in last year were button bucks.

Excellant point Frehtaxi, for years we demanded figures on how many button bucks were killed during these ridiculous "doe killing" strategies and they would never disclose.

It`s time for these agencies to go away.

Been a good year for us around Western KY less euros this year but shoulder mounts are way up. Still trickling in as people dig them out of the freezer as money comes in. Will be another rash as Christmas bonus and then tax checks come in. Duck season opened on Thanksgiving and there coming in slowly but there coming.
