WEST VIRGINIA TAXIDERMY ASSOCIATION 2014 CONVENTION

The WVTA 2014 Convention and Competition is rapidly approaching!! March 28 - 30 are the dates and once again WVTA will hold the show at the Days Hotel & Convention Center in beautiful Flatwoods, WV.

We have a great judges crew this year and a we are developing a fantastic line up of seminars. The judges will be:

Kenneth Bauman of Anadarko, Oklahoma judging WT Deer and Fish

Dale Manning of Missoula, Montana judging Birds

Clay Wagner of Lott, Texas Judging Mammals and Game Heads

All our judges are major competition award winners and highly accomplished taxidermists.

As always WVTA will have and exceptional group of vendors attending the convention. "DO NOT" miss out on the chance to pre-order and have delivered to or buy at the show at show discount prices mannikins and supplies. Most supply companies at the show will accept pre-orders. "ALSO"... all the tanneries attending the show will be accepting salt dried skins for tanning. Plan for these benefits and "SAVE MONEY"!!!

Pre-Register and save money on fees (Registration form can be found on the Become a Member page) and be sure when making reservations with the Days Hotel to tell them you are with the WVTA!! You will be treated to a free Buffet Style Breakfast every morning while attending the show!!

Hey Carl....Hope you can make it up. I would like to get down your way this year but I may be having some work done on my shoulder that week...kinda hope not....but it is a possibility.

 

Once again this year WVTA will have two great outdoor excursions in the live auction.

Mountain Meadows Hunting Preserve in Monroe County WV will be donating a Wild Boar Hunt. Mountain Meadows is a top shelf hunting preserve with great accommodations and friendly knowledgeable staff. Mr. Chad See of Valley Head , WV will be donating a one day one person Fly Fishing or Spin Fishing Trip. Chad is an experienced guide and very knowledgeable of the great trout streams here in WV. The day trip will include fly fishing gear (if necessary) and lunch. You will be catching Browns and Rainbow trout on the Elk River in the Elk Springs Resort area or a Back Country trip for Brook Trout. Trip is catch and release unless other arrangements are made to accommodate keeping fish. You will arrange to meet up with Chad at a convenient location and Chad will provide transportation from there.

For everyone traveling to the WVTA Convention in Flatwoods this week the weather will be pretty good. Thursday through Saturday will see highs in the low 60's and the lows will be in the mid 30's. There is a chance of rain on Friday and Saturday. Sunday when you leave you will have 62* and sunshine for your travel.
