WA, I am in awe of your work! You capture the essence of the animal in every mount all the time.
Now that is sound advice!
Over the past couple of years I have started sculpting faces over carcass casts for every cat or canine mount I do. Cats have their own look and it seems to me that generic facial features just don't work out. When the skin goes onto the proper shape it makes all the difference in the world. It takes a little more time but the end result is worth it.
Wa, Nice work! Very nice keep posting the pictures like seeing your work!!!
Thank you everyone for your kind words and all of YOUR inspiration!
Here's a Maine marten from last week with a very unique color (thank you sterling). I love how animated they can be.
Exceptional as always WA! That is a really pretty color!
I should have posted before WA, but here goes
I couldn't get as creative as I had wanted with this piece because the client was on a budget...so this is what I came up with. I really worked hard on it and am proud of my progress.

A couple 1/2 LS black bears
And the other (only took in 2 last year). They have been cutting the bear tags in half for our area the past couple years and the # of bears seems to be higher than before?
