Just think of how many squirrel mannikins a person could carve out of a grizzly bear mannikin. Now we're saving some money.

I guess somebodies going to try them sooner or later and will see if they are ok or not. I would not judge something by a printed picture or price though, as all companies have sales, new or not. I just got a flier in the mail from Havels and their selling blades at $15.00 a box that McKenzie is selling for $30.00. Think I'm going to save some money and buy the cheaper blades, LOL.

folks i'm new to this forum, but my thought process is this, don't knock it until you try it! If the forms are good, and your customers like them, why not save a little cash? I'm going to try one for one of my old remounts. If I like it, I will continue to use them. Just my two cents!

Steve if youre new here, you may not know this, Im a mod in here so Ill often stir the pot just to get the guys all talking on a topic. So, knowing how guys love to gripe (with good reason at times) about customers looking for lower priced taxidermists, I threw this one at them for fun. Its accurate, whether they will admit it or not, but all in all, most of us could care less who uses what form. Personally, i like it when the guys around me use the other forms! So, this was mostly tongue in cheek to begin with.

I got the catalog this week too. Forms look ok, but will need a little work to suit me. Might order one just to check it out closer.
  6. The one question I could never get a solid anser on was why dont the suppliers develop a jobber pricing for the business taxidermist? If you are in the business long enough you are getting the customer who walks in with the McKenzie catalog fussing about pricing. Now it may be that there is not enough distinction between general public / hobbist and business to warrant such but I dont feel it would be that hard and would put it in line with other professional industries. Yall have any insight on this?
  7. Sounds like someone needs to purge there mailing list, we do ours every year. Its nothing personal but if you don't order from me at least once a year we take you out. Just trying to cut costs anyway we can.

We also don't send to hunters, we usually ask them about there taxidermy business before we send them one, you can tell pretty quick who's a taxidermist or not

I received the catalog and placed an order on Friday. I received my manikins today and they are great! Really nice quality foam. I think they are going to mount up really nice. I couldn't believe how quickly I received my order. I think this is going to be a really good connection.

Two people; one with a post count of "1" and other with a post count of "2" ...............just won the deer head mannikin lottery.

Now THAT is some great "Testimony" right there!

Well Id think you would, seeing as how...

" ... I work for Dan Rinehart and see everyday what McKenzie is doing to the industry. I've been on the road for the last 2 month talking to taxidermists from all over and I hear how everyone does not like to order from them but they have no choice because they can't get anywhere else. As long as customers keep ordering from we will have no reason to "sell out". I work hard everyday to improve shipping, product you name it. I'm right there along with you guys on that. I'm here not because I work for Dan but because I have got to know a lot of my customers and a lot of taxidermists who and I love the industry. "

Thats your quote as of March 2013.
  12. Shouldn't we all be happy the supplier industry is growing. Not long ago we were worried & rightfully so that there would only be one supplier left in the game. Competition for our business is a good thing. That's what will keep the prices for supplies in check. Not that I'm showing big support for Rinehart setting up this company this way. I am very glad to see what some of the other companies are doing lately to help us with shipping costs though.

I have an old TASCO catalog and compared the forms there to the ones in the new wholesale catalog. There are a lot of differences from one end to the other. The addresses are also different too with each company being in a different town. Are we sure that this is a Rinehart company or are we just guessing? I have ordered some items from TASCO and was generally pleased with the service there. I tried two of the TASCO forms and found the sizing to be a bit off (too big), and it was a somewhat hard to prep (hard exterior), but other than that, the forms were OK with some innovative features that I liked a lot. I tried the forms when they were a new company, and I imagine that they corrected the sizing issues as they knew about them then.

    Hey Galen! .......

**I guess I did not realize a person could change the Subject line**

Been doing since this site was here. ;D

  17. I called to ask a shipping quote. Left a message & got a call back I remember the ID had Rinehart in it. I seem to remember someone doing things this same way when they took over Dan Chase's deal. A catalog with no names associated or something like that.
