kudu paint

Discussion in 'Deer and Gameheads' started by whitetail mike, Feb 16, 2014.

  1. I have looked in the archives and no such luck. I am looking for thoughts on what colors to use on a kudu? This Kudu mounted isn't gray at all but a brown color to his skin. Do I want to paint the body or just touch up the scares, and if so were do I start.

    Thank you

I just finished one that was the brown color, I use polytranspar. Lacquer. Burnt umber. ,just spray the Mount with a light or heavy coat as needed any where the hair is thin don't worry about getting it on the hair , then I use knoblocks hair sheen on a rag and rub the mount down good it will remove paint from the hair but not the skin

You will want to use a lighter color in the brisket area white and burnt umber mix also thin the paint about 50% laquer
