Rehydrating Antelope Mount

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by ada2453, Mar 6, 2014.

  1. I have an antelope shoulder mount that I finished a few months ago. The eyes are not quite right on it and everytime I look at it, it bugs me. If I put a damp cloth over the eyes would I be able to rehydrate and make some changes or is it too late? Should I just leave it alone and deal with it?

  2. Was the cape tanned?

  3. Yes, it was wet tanned.

  4. Pronghorn shed hair if you look at them wrong! With that said I would do the standard procedure with the wet towel, let sit only enough until workable, some guys inject water under the area to be worked also, just know going into this it could go south on you! Take your time and watch the process closely, let us know how it comes out.
