I pickled my turtle skin and shell then put in the freezer. It's been in there for six months or so. I took it out and soaked in warm water for an hour and the skin is very stiff. It may have gotten freezer burnt. Anyone have any solutions? Is it a lost cause now?

    It will ...

If it is frezeer burnt (moisture sucked out) soaking it will rehydrate it. Soaking it in Dawn will take the stiffness out and degrease.

Thanks Kerby, I'm soaking it over night in dawn. Hopefully this will do the trick.

    What did.............

What did you use to pickle it? That IMO may be the problem.

Pickle was salt, water, borax and imbalming fluid. Checked this morning and it is still stiff. Feels like its rubber. Don't know if anything can get it back. Open to suggestions
