Discussion in 'Deer and Gameheads' started by kendall1987, Mar 12, 2014.

  1. Had a customer bring me 4 w/t skulls he has had in his freezer 2-3 years min. im guessing. Not in a bag or wrapped up at all so now Im going to have hell with the euros. Any tips on how to rehhyrade this skin to where I can simmer it off? Or any other ways to help loosen this skin up ?
THanks in advance for any help

  2. Leave it in a pot of water for a couple weeks I just did this and every thing rehydrated and came off fine

Soak it in a bucket of water for a couple days then peal the hide off.

You're overthinking it. If you simmer them anyway, just go with that, it will just take longer. If that isn't your method macerate them instead.

Soak in water with a few drops of liquid soap to help the hydration.
