  1. Good Morning, I'm getting ready to mount my first Kudu. The cape was dry tanned(customer did that to me), There is major hair loss on the upper shoulders and i can only imagine that will get worse when i mount it.It is a grey Greater Kudu. Need some ideas on making that area look better. Air brushing and stippling was my first plan. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    thank you.

That sounds pretty common for short haired African animals especially kudo and eland. Go ahead and mount up normally, then you will need to go back in and airbrush color back onto the skin, brush the color off of the hair and you will see that they look pretty good. Helped another taxidermist this summer and we prepped an eland that looked 90% bald with epidermis loss. This process made an excellent final product. Good Luck!

  3. Thanks JK, Did you do any stippling with a brush prior to air brushing?
