will a Dakota V flesher flesh or shave small animals without ripping them up?

Discussion in 'Tanning' started by Andrew M, Apr 21, 2014.

  1. I had someone offer me a Dakota V flesher for a good deal. i haven't bought it yet but had a question for you guys. i know the Dakota V Flesher would work well on deer but would it work for smaller animals such as woodchucks, fox, coon, coyote, fisher, just to flesh them. their skin is to thin to shave but i wasn't sure if it could or can flesh them without ripping up their skin??? ??? ???

thanks again guys. you all have been really helpful with my questions.

  7. While my eager beaver does not have all the fine adjustments of the VD 5. I often shave fox, bobcat and skunk on the machine.
