You think Glen Browning ruined birds judging the show? He did check the birds thoroughly but none were visibly marred. You NEED to see if paint scratches off...if it does it will NEVER stick in the long run. If it's not put back together ANATOMICALLY CORRECT the points WILL come off not because you used a different method.

People these days tend to forget that a taxidermy competition is not JUST about "looks". It's about Craftsmanship, Anatomy, Artistry and Technique. Fails in any of those areas and you....FAIL.

no need feel it up... I could feel a mount and say well it don't have a body u used wood fiber and not foam!! on that bird!!!! its bs just because the wow \\\ a world title... back in 1070"s keep it current judges!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont recall the scoresheet criteria asking if there was a body, to suggest a wrapped body would be wrong. I dont think some of you are speaking from true experience, just maybe one bad experience...or one youd heard about.

Jim and Bill, Right on! I will tell you this as a judge I "feel up" the birds and they are probably better groomed after I judge them.

I did not point a finger at anyone. Never mentioned a name, or even what show this occurred at. I kept my identity hidden in an effort not to embarrass the judge in question. But since you seem to be familiar with this situation Mike, would you care to explain how a judge might properly do their job without touching the mount or removing the case? What does a judge mark on the scoresheets for those certain areas.
