LOL YES, I do know and the wing to wing would have been a tough job to pull off, The voltage flow would have been weaker with hollow bones and would have traveled across the ribcage. The mouth to the anus goes through all the major organs and would work much quicker. In reality, holding the bird is no more dangerous than holding a drill or a trouble light. But as I said, if you're nervous, you should avoid this method.

First of all I'm just asking you guys to quit arguing over stupid stuff. Secondly I didn't make a dumbass remark about a method I never tried, I didn't bash any method if you would have read it correctly. I said I prick them in the head, although I would inject there heads with acetone or denatured alcohol. I may try the electricity since I don't like to waste meat. I'm not trying to get in a pissing match over how to kill a bird. I'm sorry if I offended you somehow.

I prefer a 4 iron or a 30-06 to dispatch birds, if they are for practice, this tends to match what they are like from some customers.

  4. a 4 iron is nutso...5 ?....yes, gently...

kinglet- you said nothing George is just an idiot. this is a great forum with lots of nice people. you and someone else also said what I did a ways back, everyone has their own way of doing things!

the problem with idiots like George it that they swear their way is the best and that's it. I mean how much time does that guy have to actually do anything other than sit behind a computer screen and talk trash when he has posted over 30,000 times!!! what a loser seriously... get a job or hobby or woman... something other than being an douche-bag internet tough-guy. I used to laugh at him, but now I kinda just feel sorry for him.

I couldn't agree more. He is one of those annoying people that always think they're right and you just can't help them. I always have thought wow what a prick, and this guy is such a douche. George here is my advice, Shutup.

Oh what a pair. Kinglet and Kyle, the butt brothers with a combined IQ of 12 talking smack about anybody. Kinglet, here's some advice for both of you: go pack sand.

Right after you. George you bring all of this upon yourself, you argue too much, and pick fights. Hell you'd argue with a brick wall for hours. I have honestly never seen a more senile, hateful, crotchety, old man.

Who you calling a brick wall Kinglet? I have argued with George many a time, it's all good. All of you lighten the hell up, would you?

Sound compassionate how you're so concerned about what I "bring on myself". I'm a big boy and old enough nit to concern myself with pissants. And besides, I don't give a damn what you and Kyle or anyone else like you think about me. I still sleep well at night.

So, are you comparing yourself to a brick wall? How long are you going to continue chastising an old man who has given more to this site than you can ever know? If you don't like what is said just move on instead of continuing to perpetuate the disrespect you are so riled up about.

I have been raising pheasants for over 45 years. A real-world situation for me is when I’m in a pen with 60 birds (not in a butcher shop or slaughter house that don’t care about feather loss, not birds in a box, not turkeys or peacocks) and 50 of them have to be put down. I want to both mount and eat them. After keeping some of them for 3 or 4 years, I don’t want to stress them out any more than I have to by catching one bird, leaving and electrocuting it. I’m not going to put them in a box because they’ll break their tail feathers and have massive feather loss. This is just an overall bad idea in any situation. I want my pheasants put down fast out of respect for them and the other reasons stated. The less you handle pheasants and game birds in general, the better. They are highly stressed to begin with and release their feathers easily. Pinching them under the wings is fast, seconds at most. They have no feather loss or damage of any kind, and are perfectly edible.

How anyone could electrocute a quail is beyond me. That would have to be one of the hardest (and funniest) things…a video of this process would be a good candidate for a YouTube “epic fail”. Hooking up wires to something that small has tragedy written all over it. Just the stress of doing this would probably kill the bird.

wa, quail only take about 2 seconds. I guess I don't know where you're coming from. They're much easier than pheasants because I can hold them in one hand and hook them up without them struggling. Once the electricity is turned on, the lights are out. there is NO movements and the meat is completely chemical free and edible.

Your right. George I am honestly sorry I know you won't accept it though. It's been very stupid what we are arguing about. I am just an impulsive person I acted without thinking.

Kinglet I have this wonderful talent of walking into a room and pissing off half the people without saying anything. I can't apologize for things I have no control on. This all started with me describing a method that I and others used. Instead of accepting only as a method, I was attacked - by several who've never tried it it who have a fear of electricity. Like any old dog that's kicked, I bit back.

wa, perhaps YOU really might want to go back are reread this thread again. Nothing was going on until Kyle showed up and even you began stoking the fire. And YES, it's a gift because it means that half the room is for you. It was enough to get Obama elected wasn't it? It's only a flaw when you let it work against you and I've never experienced a situation where I allowed that to happen.
