Anyone here have success with mounting one? I hear they will slip whether fresh or old.

If frozen, thaw them in denatured alcohol overnight in a fridge. It will lock the hair and tighten the skin enough to get through skinning them without problems. I have done this with numerous iffy critters over the years and it works fine.

the slipping is from finger pressure or sometime hand heat...you can do as above or simply salt as you skin with a very fine salt then acetone after...either way works fine.....one is in the museums collection that I did 35 years ago and it has not lost a hair....good luck
