Thought I should start a new topic for this years bird hunting. Here in Germany we have started the mallard season today and we have been able to hunt young pigeons in the fields.
Have been out with my Irish setter lady Grace today and we got our first mallrad of the seoson and one pigeon,

    Rainer.

Dove season opened yesterday but I didn't go out in the 113* F. Couldn't get excited about it. All I can think about is next week.......Caribou and Ptarmigan in Alaska and temps in the 50*s

All in all we had a great day. Limits weren't the priority as we had 4 kiddos shooting. We had two 13 year old young ladies and another woman on their first hunts. Everyone got dove. Ended up around 100 birds for 11 shooters.

My 9 yo got his limit with 30 shells with his 410. He's really gotten the hang of the wing shooting.

My youngest decided he was switching to the pump 20. He started 5/5. I think I just lost my pump.

Saw a lotta white wings and nothing like an old fixed full over mod for shooting high passing whitewings.

Been awhile since I posted, but we had a great opening day in south Alabama. The whole group killed over 200 birds and we managed to find our limit as well. And we managed to put a 125 lbs boar on the ground! [IMG][IMG]

Got in one more family dove hunt before heading to LA to help my friend fill gator tags. Live evening water hole shoots.

Boys had a blast hand grabbing small gators.

Nothing real big this year but a few nice 8 footers.

  18. That gator hunting looks awesome. Brazos, you always post some awesome pics and I love seeing the kiddos.

My 3 year old was along this morning with the wife and father-in-law when we downed our first band. The FIL and I are sharing credit :D

Nice job on the band. Brother got a banded be last year and the guy at work this year got one. I can not wait for work to slow down and the wedding to be over with to free up some time to chase some birds

Our teal blew through early. We didn't get many but had one happy kiddo that got his first duck.
