Great bunch of birds.... Especially the Redheads by the way if you want to gift any of them I'll take the spooner first then one of the Redheads...

  2. LOL, we hunted with another client that hand carves decoys and we hunted over his spread. The keel had fallen off his Spoonie so he kept it up there for good luck as he had done well at a competition with it. Gave me the bug to carve some more decoys but with taxidermy I hardly ever get the chance.

I was hoping to have some Redheads to gift but they ended up having a lot of brown in all but 2 that were spoken for. I will be going back for a DIY hunt there next year and plan to spend a couple days, maybe I can get some nice ones and some pintail as well.

    Here was his spread

we tried for hogs with no luck. I told then I couldn't guarantee the hunting but I could guarantee the food and that they would go home 10 lbs heavier.
    Salmon, tuna, and rockfish tostadas.

    Blackened tuna and halibut

    Mesquite fired ribeyes.

I think that turning these boys loose with some firepower today may be the highlight of their trip. Like kids in a candy store.

Couple hundred rounds of 9, 40, 223, and AK ammo mixed with some tannerite....

Got the executive shef from one of the hottest restaurants in Austin. The BBQ pig, quail, ribs, brisket did not suck.

They have really shown us the local side of holland the last 2 yrs so I tried to do the same. Took em to my friends cattle ranch. It's been under one family for over 140 yrs.

Broke out the 20s and cleaned up on ring necks and cowbirds around his grain bins.

Thought the last day was gonna be a struggle. Decided to drive north to a spot that hadn't been hunted since thanksgiving. Payed off!!
The clouds were like waves rolling in. Never seen anything like this before.

  15. Those are some good looking teal. Can't even tell they were shot. Did you scare them to death?

Had a good last hunt of the year and got to share it with my dad. I smoked the drake on a long shot and it looked like I scared him to death. Great memory that will go along with the mount.
