Nothing like getting one on opening morning and its a hit-lister. Biggest bird to date. 20 pounds 1 oz, 1 1/4" spurs, 10 1/4" beard and 7" beard. My first and probably last double bearded bird. Sorry for the crappy cell pic.
Hunt a friends place that's a whoppin 25 acres but the big ranch next door is full of birds.
Dish of #6s served.
5 min later. 5 more customers.
Called in 5 more jakes
Then two big long beards.
They just can't handle big ugly being in their back yard.
Cool coloration on the two rios.
Sweet hunt Brazosboyt! Nothing better than spending time in a turkey blind with your kid! Way to get after them. Our shotgun season doesn't open for a couple more weeks. I'm itching to get after them!
You must live in a hunting paradise. Shoot all of that waterfowl, now turkey couple weeks later. Must be nice
Better late then never. Couple good shoots of the year
For the last 15 years we've been working to improve our turkey habitat.
Wells, water troughs, milo feeders, brush clearing, predator control, etc.
Every year we have A few more birds. This year-we had 15+ toms roosted on the property. Had a blast with my boys and father in law this weekend.
Set up on 3 toms and some hens. Put big ugly up and in 5 minutes, they were bowed up on him. 1,2,3 and 2 were down.
Poor mr ugly took a load of #6 in the face.
Little while later- got my fil on one.
Heard one a few hundred yards off. Got on him and sealed the deal.
Took a few pics and called it a day.
That's a tailgate pic!
I love the color variations in these rios.
Buddy shot this one right down the road. If i didn't know better, I'd say this was an eastern.
Awesome day of turkey hunting there Brazos! The turkeys took a hit that morning. Very nice to do that with your friend and family!
