First burr to burr

Discussion in 'Deer and Gameheads' started by Driftless, Sep 23, 2014.

  1. I still say its not practical. The extra time and just taking the antlers out is a waste of time. being careful not getting into the skin with any fancy power tool.

You have mounted 1 or 2 deer, dealt with customers, sight seers, phone calls, its getting late in the day & your ass is already tired. There is 10 heads on the floor that has to be skinned. yea I'm about to waste time doing something not one single customer would notice must less appreciate.
Lets get it done and get out of here !

Curious, do you sew straight across or meet in the middle starting at each bur?

George The older I get, the better I was.

tas, you're hallucinating again. If it was the "only" way we wouldn't have dorsals and "7's" and "T's" and short "Y's". It may be your preferred method but damned sure ain't the "only way".

Same here Driftless, just do it on early season short haired deer. First one took a little while until i got the hang of it.Definitely worth the trying.
