Mounting up my personal best.....

I feel very fortunate to have finally taken what I call a BIG buck. Now of course is the question of which form to use. He was a young deer according to his teeth and his body type echoed that was well. He measures 7.5x19.5 and is short haired seeing I killed him on Oct 1.
I've always liked the Mears forms but I've never used the smaller ones, maybe someone could give me their insight on that. I like the 6900 shoulders and brisket and I can easily alter the neck but I really don't care for the lip line and nose. I'm thinking about using the 6900 and putting a Mears head on it. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Congratulations on that stud! I have used Mears forms on big heavy deer, but I have no experience with his smaller line of forms sorry. I think a 6900 with a Mears head would look slick though . Be sure to post some pictures of it when you are done.

  3. That is awesome!....check out OTS

Teeth are not 100% accurate but I'd say 3.5 if he tooths young. Super nice buck!

I think the Hansen buck was 3.5 as well.

Check out OTS too before you decide.

Congrats that is a awesome buck.
I have used many smaller mears forms and they are nice forms that mount up good, OTS forms are also very nice.

Congrats on a great buck! I'd go with an ots wall ped. Coombs makes some nice wall pedspeds as well.

  10. Nice Buck! Congratulations!
  11. I would put that one on a pedestal for sure. Here is a picture of a 6900 pedestal that I did last year. You just have to tweak those 6900's a little to make them look a lot better than right out of the box.

OTS is the best form out of the box. Just take one you like in the right size and make it into a pedestal.
