Question on skinning venomous snakes

I'm not looking to mount one myself (yet), but I'll be skinning some copperheads soon to tan the skins and I was wondering - what do you snake guys do with the heads? Are they original? Reproductions?

I'll be straight up lopping the heads off mine. :)
  2. Why in the world would you cut the head off? Just skin it out like any other snake.

Amre, if I don't sell these, they'll be tanned as flat skins for knife sheath inserts and the heads are unnecessary.

I just wasn't sure what the standard procedure for venomous snake skinning was for reptile taxidermists.
