  3. It was an absolutely AWESOME show! Seriously anyone that don't go take advantage of that show and enjoy themselves for the weekend is crazy!

Like George said, I've never seen so much offered to the guests and competitors at a show! and its free!

Congratulations Amy! you deserve it! :D And congratulations to all the other winners and to Head Quarters and Big Rock for a Great Show!

Anyone know who did the nice jumping Brown Trout per chance?
    Thanks, Scott

His name is Chad See. Beautiful fish, I was blown away by that mount - and I'm one of those mammal people who normally doesn't look at the fish mounts too closely!

Thanks Amy, and thanks again for sharing the pics, and congratulations on your mounts. Looks like a great show.

I will send Chad a congratulatory PM. I am familiar with Chad's work and it has been advancing to greater and greater levels of excellence, but this is a huge jump to the top rung for him IMO.

    Best,
    Scott

  16. George

George The older I get, the better I was.

Those of you who missed this show missed a golden opportunity. If you enjoy competing, I guess platinum opportunity would apply. If you're just looking to learn by competing or simply would enjoy seeing how the very best do their thing, there are an endless amount of opportunities at this show. I've been a few places in my life, but none where every taxidermist was treated like royalty. If you don't compete, it cost you ZERO to get in the door and when you're registered, it cost ZERO (unless you're competing) and that includes heavy hors d'oeuvres and sit down meals with real china and silverware. You can even walk through the outdoor trade show downstairs where hundreds of millions of dollars worth of merchandise is displayed for member dealers to order from. This is not a low-rent operation I assure you and when the CEO from Big Rock is the introductory speaker at the taxidermy banquet, you know that taxidermy might actually have arrived. If you're close to Raleigh next year (and even if you aren't) you should make plans to attend this spectacular show.

OH, and just by chance if you'd like to buy taxidermy supplies, Head Quarters Supply is there with their complete inventory on sale with show discounts. Bring your trailer.
