Fixing bare spot

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by ada2453, Dec 17, 2014.

  1. Hi, I just finished a shoulder mount on an antelope that was shot forward through the brisket. I was able to pull enough skin around in the armpit area and get it stapled but there is a pretty large bare spot in one of the armpits where where the bullet hole is. I was wondering if there is a technique for gluing some hair in that area to make it look better or if I should just paint it white like the other hair to try and mask it? Any thoughts?

Tint the area first to match surrounding hair ,then you can layer in some hair if you like.

  3. To layer the hair in do you just use some super glue gel and dot it a few hairs at a time?

A slower drying glue (matte mod-podge) would work better ,make sure it dries clear.Layer the hair like shingles following the natural hair patterns.

  5. Ok, I'll give it a try. Thanks for the help!
