Fleshing Machine Question

Discussion in 'Deer and Gameheads' started by muddobber, Dec 18, 2014.

  1. I have a Dakota V Flesher and I have problems with the "shavings" getting into the lower pulley. I have tried to put hard plastic in front of the opening at the bottom of the blade, but it still gets drug down by the blade past the plastic and into the pulley. When fleshing a deer cape I would say this happens 5 to 6times on average every time causing a tremendous amount of vibration in my blade. So I stop and fish it out. This is costing me a lot of extra time. Any suggestions???

Get a pro. I had the same machine for years and it was a pain in the butt. The one thing I did find that helped was to make sure the hole in the front of the blade was plenty big for all the shavings could fall away

  3. Thanks for the feedback. I'm getting a Pro.
