I've got little red beetles

    I noticed tonight while pulling out skulls from my large colony that I have quite a few very small red beetles in my colony...... They seem to be all over the finished skulls and crawling on top of the styrofoam. Colony hasn't slowed or seem to be effected. My question is: are they doomed? Can I Separate some now in case they will all die? What are these beetles?

    They are probably red flour beetles. As far as I know they do not affect dermestid beetles. I have had some in a colony for a while that has been doing just fine.
