    I have decided that it must be time for a new mammal challenge. It has been a long time since the last one! Please vote on the animal we should have for our challenge subject, and also post a reply if you plan on participating. I will host the challenge if there are at least 10 participants. The time of voting will be in mid-February. I will have lynx and bobcat together, and gray, red, arctic, etc foxes together, so no one is grumpy (or everyone is grumpy, depending on your opinion of this).

    If you are new:

    I will make a post of the rules and instructions once the challenge animal is chosen. Participants submit photos (2) of their finished mount by PM or Email - outside photos with no people in them, to make it anonymous and fair to those without photo studios. I make a post with the photos and a poll, and the members of taxidermy.net vote for their favorite mount. You can do a search for bobcat challenge, fox challenge, etc to see how it is done.

    I'm new here on the forum, fill me in. I'm assuming you mount a small mammal and post pictures for the membership to view and vote on?
    I have a small bobcat I'm working on....if my assumption is correct I will get in on the challenge, it's only commercial mount though.

    The mammal has yet to be chosen, thus the poll above. If you want to enter your bobcat, you need to vote for bobcats, as they are behind foxes right now.

    Ok thanks I see it now, I re-read the original post, I must have missed the instructions the first time :-[. I put my vote in for bobcat. If cat is the chosen one I'm in other wise I have no new critters to mount. I do have some mounts already done but I'm not sure if that would be frowned upon.

    I'd like to play... However my specimen is still whole/frozen sitting in the freezer. Would it upset anyone if the completion deadline was pushed to March 1st? It'd give us a little more time to tan and work into existing schedules. If that's ok, my vote is for Yote.

    I got a bunch of bobcats so I voted for that but maybe I could get one of the two coyotes I got together...

    perhaps the marten/fisher group could be the 'mustelid' group - ermine, mink, marten, otter, fisher, wolverine... :)
