Greetings my name is Óskar and im from Iceland, and i live on a tiny island called Heimaey (the one that erupted in 1973)
first off i spent many years photographing and studying birds and i still do https://www.flickr.com/photos/oskaree/ here is some of my photography
i started on my very first bird in 21 march in 2013,my girlfriend was not to happy with my new hobby at the time lol, but now she loves it (only saw one video of a latino fellow mounting a partridge, and didn't understand one word)
i got tips on the basics from a older taxidermist that lives on my island,
and i got lessons on skype from my friends that live in different countries
and i have spent almost every day since then doing taxidermy.... its almost my second job now

so here is some of my recent work

  10. Thanks for hosting O/skar, some cool birds that you guys get to do. I especially like the petrals, very streamlined birds. Another splash for me.

    Tim outstand piece.
Everyone, good looking birds so far this week. Just finished up this one from the tutorial. Not the best of birds so I tried to draw the attention to his head.

Thanks Oskar! As I have said before all of here in the States are jealous of the variety of birds ya'll get to mount! Here's a Scaup from me. It was one of the original birds I learned to skin wheel and wash on. It was shot in 2006 and was Super Freezer burned.

  19. I like them. All of them. What a good looking bunch of birds. Every single bird this week looks fantastic.

Brooke - I think you've got the hang of it for sure.
