Curious as to how long ago you made an order with him. Hope you are also not in the USA as there isn't anything he sells that you can buy legally. If you are, then assume that US Customs took it to be destroyed and might be paying you a visit as well.

Didn't know you were in Canada. Doesn't say under your name. Can you just import things like that without them having to be checked by Customs in any way? It is possible that you got scammed. There was another one on here a while back that apparently sold stuff to individuals and gained their confidence, then managed to get them to send a large amount of cash for a huge deal .. which never arrived. Also can't rule out that this is the same person with a different name.

How long ago did you order stuff? Maybe it is just hung up in transit? If everything else is ruled out then maybe you got taken. There are a few good ones on here that have been here for a long while. The one you are dealing with is relatively new. In this thread, about 5 posts down, a seller with the name of Juan is mentioned. i tried even contacting my post office what they could tell me is parcel was send and i figure it out my money or my box cant be giving to me by post office because i did not pay for insurance of the box.but when you tell buyers to pay for insurances they will thing you want to take money of their pocket

Sorry you got scammed. But, why in the world would anyone actually deal with anyone from a central African country. They are 8,000 miles away, and there is no way you have any recourse if they don't follow up? Most of those countries are full of crooks, scammers and thief's. ?????????????

Even if it IS legal - which I am really skeptical about - Canada is a member of CITES and a developed Western country with civilized rules! - it is still unethical. That seller lists endangered and protected animals and financing him is wrong.

Lastly, I say this all of the time and the managers of the site don't seem to care, but eventually a dealer like this of massively illegal stuff can someday shut down t.net. You aren't allowed to list protected species on ebay (even ones that are just protected in CA but don't originate, travel through or end in CA), and for the same reason, I worry that the feds will shut this site down if enough illegal stuff gets brokered through it.

Please do not deal with shady dealers even if you think some of their stuff isn't shady.

Juan, you need to explain why you have two accounts here using different names and email addresses then. Or maybe you have more? You are using [email protected] and [email protected]. Why do you need so many email address for contact? Having many identities does not appear honest.

I was wondering about that... I had a friend in Canada worried about getting a legal hyena skull through to him from the US with all necessary paperwork due to CITES and customs... It seems odd that these packages would make it through customs with no issue, to me, especially protected species.

EBay has changed their rules recently and you can list cougar and wolf parts now, I believe, but bear is still illegal on eBay AND Etsy... and for the same reason as stated. It's a huge risk to them legally. The mods here do occasionally comment on posts mentioning it's illegal to buy items from South America, Central Africa, etc., when the sellers do pop up, but they leave them up for people who it may be legal for... though I don't really know who it would be legal for at this point, honestly.

If you are from a Western civilization like 99% of the buyers on here, then you need CITES paperwork to receive most mammals - even relatively common ones. For instance all primates, bats and cats are covered. Also, all Western countries (to my knowledge) have additional rules on importation of specimens.

One big loophole: I understand that specimens can be shipped WITHIN the EU.

Bottom line: know your local rules and for goodness sake don't rely on anyone on here to explain it to you! Ask the authorities.

Also, stop buying from clearly unethical sources. That is more moral advice than legal, though I suspect there are serious legal issues with dealers like this too!

eBay- has actually removed a bunch of listing recently we were subject to some of the removals because they HAVE changed their policies but have not updated the website to match their new policies. Do NOT count on their listed policies to actually reflect on what they "allow" they have actually become more strict as to what they will allow . They will no longer allow preserved animals "wet mount" or freeze dried.

below is part of the actual email I received for some domestic wet mount chicks we had listed and had been listing without issue for some time - you will see that some of the things mentioned in the email is NOT listed on their wildlife policy page:

Not sure who enforces their policies but it's a crock. Look at all the sperm whale oil that frequently sells on there for outrageous prices. Must be allowed because they get a big profit from those sales. Other things slide too for unknown reasons.

Don't see how a preserved chick qualifies for any of the above.

As for the scammer issue, perhaps someone will step up and say that they have dealt with you and can make a favorable report? You say that you are in Ekata on your info here but other sites you claim to be Cameroon. Which is it? The two are nowhere near each other. Maybe your two or more different email address are one for each location?

In terms of eBay, I still don't understand- they ARE allowing spiders and other insects as wet mounts just not animals so it's not a change in shipping policies as they stated on the phone. Also another eBay rep I spoke to, said both wet mounts and freeze dried items were now not allowed items but traditionally taxidermy mounts were still ok.

In terms of the SCAM ALERT it seems like a box that normally takes 4-5 weeks and still has not been delivered in 7 weeks? Could still be truly lost. Juan seems to be responding even in this post. Has the poster just put up a SCAM ALERT before actually trying to communicate with Juan?

I will not bring in ethical values in supporting someone who is clearly selling endangered species.

Like Sea Wolf I would like to see someone step up and verify a smooth
transaction with Juan. As I remember Juan has been posting on here for as at least a year on a regular basis, so maybe it's just NON-US buyers that have bought from him...

There appears to be a conspiracy between these sellers. What it appears, is that these sellers are all one. Look at the profiles, contact addresses and names for all these.

Looking at the names use and email connections I think it safe to say that jj sunny and juanskulls are the same person.
