Hi folks! I've only done a few wet tans, mink and other small critters for mounts. I had a customer drop off a raccoon tail recently and he wanted it dry tanned. I understand the wet tan process and have no experience on doing a dry tan. What is the difference between the two procedures? Your help is much appreciated.

Same procedure. Dry tan consists of the same steps as a wet tan with the added steps of drying and breaking until soft.

Thanks! Breaking is basically just working the hide until it softens, I'm guessing!
