What is Back Brushing?

I've read that some of you "back brush" your mounts. I feel ignorant in saying that I don't know what that is. I have a few questions... What is it and when do you do it? Can you do it after it is dry? What type of brush and why do you do it?

it's when you brush the hair against the way it normally lays while it's drying. You do it when drying. I use a few different brushes normal hair brushes and dog and cat brushes. You do it to make it look natural.

I like to back brush short hair areas like the muzzle... for the neck and shoulder I like to brush sideways, not completely backwards. It fluffs it just enough without getting too sloppy

I do this right before I walk away completing a mount, then I do it again right before I do the finish work.
