Beaver Tail Question

Discussion in 'Lifesize Mammals' started by presmem, Feb 7, 2015.

  1. Doing my first beaver and I am going to try using the real tail. I figure if it does not work out I can always buy an artificial one.

The question I have is do you keep the top half attached to the hide (Slitting from the underneath side and fleshing) or completely detach it before tanning?

    Thanks,

    Michael

If you are going to use the real one, you can remove the tail, flesh, and tan it with your beaver. Then, you can run wire in the tail and attach when you get to mounting it.

  3. Thank you Matt,
