Cut placement

    Thought I posted this last night but having technical issues.

    Am second guessing of where to put my cuts to remove the antlers/skull plate on whitetails for mounting. It's been one of those weeks!
    Have searched the archives, but not finding what I am looking for.

    He means perpendicular not parallel lol

    I usually do it that way then trim it again once I get the form to see where they need cut.
    most are at the narrowest point between the eye and burr but the b other cut can vary quite a bit pending on sculptors

    Yep, as others mentioned, but can very depending on form. Don't just assume you can take your cut off antlers and put them on the form as is and expect it to be anatomically correct every time. Take measurements to make sure they are reattached correctly, or as close as possible. If not you invite further skin alignment issues when mounting and drying.
