Wanted log slab for fish

  1. Wanted--
    I need a couple of log slabs to mount trout.
    Can't remember where I got the last ones, a few
    years ago.
    Any ideas is helpful.

    Bob, I have quite a few walnut slabs in the 30 inch range, some smaller and larger. A few oak and ash. These are kiln dried and live edge slabs.

    Find a local sawmill in your area. Around here you can get a pick-up load for $15.-

    Depends on wether there off green logs or dead logs. We usually cut them in 3 or 4 ft lengths and let the sit for a few weeks and
    let them check then cut it out. Most of them are 2-3 inches thick, the ones that split very bad we just firewood them. Plus alot of
    them we spray a flat sealer on the back and edges.
