I'm getting some turkey heads ready to send off to be freeze-dried. I was wondering if it's better to just freeze the heads or put them in a ziploc bag filled with water?

I've sent heads to noonkesters in the past, always done great work. They recommend freezing it in a bag of water. seemed to work well.

Freeze them in water while storing. Thaw out of the water and refreeze without water when you ship. This will save time and space and will reduce your chance of anything leaking. If any leakage makes it to the outside of the box the carrier will not deliver it and you will lose your heads
