lifesize chicken comb and wattle preservation

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by SmileyQueen, Apr 17, 2015.

  1. Doing a life size mount of a chicken, and I'm not quite sure how to go about preserving the wattle and comb after skinning it.

Not sure if you're supposed to somehow skin those out too, or inject them with something?

freeze in the correct position then make a silicone mold cast it easy and looks good plus it holds up,or send it off for freeze drying

you can buy a fake head from WASCO page 184.
    Good luck.
  4. I did a rooster mount years ago and injected the comb with Fantastic Cast injection grade. I had to inject it two or three times as it was my first time using Fantastic Cast. My customer loved it and was very pleased with it
  5. Might Bird Feet Injection Fluid do the trick? Seems to be the basically the same thing as Fantastic Cast.
