What is the best way to clean fragile mouse bones? I have collected a very large number of mouse jaws from owl pellets and want to find the safest, most efficient way to clean them without damaging them.

    What do you recommend?

If they still had flesh on them dermestid beetles would be the way to go, but bones from owl pellets are usually pretty clean already. Soak them in hydrogen peroxide (3% works well) and very gently clean off any remaining dust/fur with tweezers and a toothbrush. The peroxide will both whiten and disinfect the bone.

I like a lot of good, useful web content.
