Ok I'll start. Lets just start May now since April is almost over. With turkey season started for most of us time to get excited about mounting turkeys. I don't get many turkeys to do but I do have a pic of one of them I did last year.

Shawn, thanks for starting Turkey of the Month back up! Love the way you incorporated yours into a wall mount. I have only done one Turkey, but am starting#2 today. Hope a bunch more will post up pics here!

Here is my first, which was a gift bird for me to practice with and will stay in my showroom. The owner of the bird came out and saw it the other day and loved it! He also pointed out that this guy has 20 tail feathers instead of 18... I didn't realize that and didn't even know that it was different.

I started doing turkeys last summer!
Here are my first two that I did by myself.
These were a surprise gift for my 60 year old uncle. He killed each of these birds on our first two hunts together.
They were his first two turkeys!

Birds at the Convention! It was my first time to even attend.

It was very neat to see all the mounts and hear feedback from those that come by the pieces!

I was VERY PROUD to have gotten Three 1st Place Scores in my first competition and won Best Commercial Mount!

I can't wait to come back again and to get more experience under my belt with more mounts after the season is over!
Taken in a few nice birds already!

Hope to post more pictures in the future.

Sorry for the bombardment! Just learned how to post some pictures up! Haha
I've always just been a spectator and love to look at all your work!

Billingsby--excellent work, especially for someone just getting into it.

Good to see your work again as well Birds Only-- you are one of the best.

I have been using some of these birds for advertising lately so they have made the rounds, but here they are again.....

    Hey Rachel! lol
Can't wait to see some of your new work!

Thanks for the compliments Aaron! Man I love that top strutter! Wow!

I have to admit, none of my turkey work (as few as it's been thus far) wouldn't be where it is without a great teacher and friend. A man that has been nothing but encouraging and helpful to me. Even after I wanted to and did quit for a while!
To be able to do these birds now, even though I like to toil over them for a lot longer than I should is so satisfying to see the end result and be able to share what I've done back with you and my customers!
With that said, John, your birds look beautiful as ever Sensei!
And that ghost head ! ;) haha!

I could tell you studied under Mr. Beard. I could see it as plain as day. GREAT job----both of you. I've said many times before---John is the best groomer in the business. Hats off!

  20. I trained under John as well.... Best in the business in my honest opinion and a great friend / instructor!
