    Hello There -

I am using EZ-100 to tan a deer cape and was wondering if it's ok to go straight to the pickle after salting twice? Normally I let the capes dry hard but don't have too much time for that. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.

I won't do that. Either go straight into the pickle or hydrate it and then into the pickle. It will take a long time for a cape that is salted twice to hydrate in a pickle. A total waste of time and your looking to save time. If you salted it twice hydrate it and put it in the pickle. It won't take long for it to hydrate.

If you go to Pro-1's web site Paul explains why you don't put a salted hide right into a pickle and a ton of more info.

For me cause of room and no big vats I still salt hard and then hydrate when I'm ready. An ole but proven over and over again a good method.
