Alaskan Brown Bear Base

    Trying to find that blackish sand for a Brown Bear base. Anybody have any connections on where to get some??? Any info would help. Just finishing up a giant with a 30 inch skull and want to get the base perfecto!!

    Mix black floor grout dry with regular river sand and it darken up enough. Doug

  3. Jim, We've done the same thing Doug mentioned using black mortar or concrete dye. Works great.

    There is a black sand blasting medium that is called Black Beauty that might work

    That's right Paul, the monster is drying and i'm waiting for the woodworker to drop off the base. It's the size of a VW Microbus!!!
    Jeff, someone else recently told me about the sandblasting sand. Thanks for the info guys. Will post a few photos when finished.

    Use Michael p's way dried out pine bark mulch
