I had a 4h kid bring me a wood duck another taxidermist helped him mount. They used an artificial head but painted the legs "John Deere" green. He wants me to help him fix it. My question is what is the best way to fix this, paint over with white for a new base or strip the paint off? He doesn't know if it is waterbase or acrylic. What would I use to strip it? Thank you for any help. He wants to put it in the fair.

if it's laquer, then use laquer thinner, i would think water would remove acrylic? you could white out the legs and repaint them. let us know how it turns out.

Lacquer thinner will clean water based paint also.
