Open Letter to John Creager, Mitch Webb and NTA - BOD's

Same old story I've heard for years now. Why would anyone pay dues to an organization when there are so many other taxidermy associations that don't have constant accusations and controversy surrounding it?? This has just gotten pathetic. I don't recall one instance of this kind of crap with the UTA. Seems simple to me, the NTA drama is a black eye to our art, bottom line. There needs to be a new place where an accomplished artist can win a national title not tainted by the leadership being surrounded by constant controversy.

 

Brian, I was wondering the same thing you are on the UTA. I don't recall any slander, people being as pissed off at one another or disliked board members as in this group (NTA). Maybe because it's posted all over this site. I'm sure that at the show it will not show as most people are there for the competition and have a great time but, it will be there and it does exist (human nature). You don't need the NTA to have a national title or ribbon... The UTA is another alternative, is just as good in that they to also draw from across the country. UTA has 8 board members that include the President and staff. The NTA has 19 that includes the President and staff and an "advisory board"????. Either way both are good organizations both run by people.

 

Lest you both forget, the UTA was created by NTA members and many of them (me included) are still NTA members and NTA LIFE MEMBERS. The NTA actually IS the only place you can become National Champion and receive the Award if Excellence. It's one helluva great launching pad of competition for the World Show if you're into that. You can't be part of a solution while sitting in the Peanut Gallery. You spend more money on sodas and beer in a month than a tax deductible NTA membership.

 

George, at least the beer and soda tasted good! I have joined the NTA twice in recent years. All I ever received from them was the weekly email NTA newsletter. Never nothing back with a membership certificate - nothing. Once they had my money they were done with me.

Bruce, the organization has been in chaos for about 6-7 years now. Imagine your house being burned down along with all the records surrounding it. At last night's membership meeting I endorsed converting The Outlook to digital format. They are working on making the NTA website interactive. Both good ideas. I would like to see them convert membership to a format like the states now use for hunter education certifications. (How many of you are going to tell me you read Outlook for more than 5 minutes or produced your membership card to impress someone?)

 

Well, the first time was 2011 when the Crains were in charge. The next I sent my money to joe Kulas. Pretty sure his house didn't burn down. Hope they turn it around.

 

I don't care if NTA dues were 50 cents. I will never be part of an association in such disarray. Do you think this posts timing was random?? There is a witch hunt going on still and that means this is a mess.

Both my wife and I sit on the BOD of our state association and if things were even close to this crap we wouldn't handle things in this childish manner. Letting everyone on taxinet know a board member "might" be racist exactly when the show is happening is school yard bs. Adults don't handle issues like this. Sad..

 

Creager has been spewing bigotry on this site for years either thru posting sor his stupid avatars.

 

Lets preach ethics (racism bigotry) Inside the NTA, Yet the NTA allowed this this POS in side. You don't think every christian that had to view that didn't feel attacked and ashamed of the NTA for allowing such a thing to get through the door. Even If only one person found it hurtful it would be no different than whats this entire post is all about to begin with ! Let some guy get passionate about a southern monument that a certain group of people want removed, and sound off about it with a racial slur and lets get a lynch mob together. Bring a sacrilegious item int to a event and its called art so that's ok . BS ! That's as anti christian as it can get. Don't try to piss down my back and tell me its raining either. Thats not the sacrificial lamb .

 

I may be mistaken, but that ribbon next stays Garden State Taxidermy Asssociation and not NTA. I think that picture is from the New Jersey show

 

That's at the Nj show and was in the Rogue taxidermy Division has nothing to do with the NTA

Show me the link where that was posted as being from the NTA show otherwise I call shenannigans AND bulllshot.

Mama always said, sweep around your own door step before sweeping somebody elses. Some folks need to do some serious sweeping ! I'm sure i need to check my door as well.

 

For what it is worth...The photo is on Rick's page but not with the NTA photo album set. It is with a series of photos that contains both NTA and Garden State. It does clearly indicate at the bottom left of the photo it was from the Garden State Taxidermy Show.

 

There are no less than FOUR shows shown on Rick's Facebook page, the NTA's pictures are first, then the New Jersey State show, where the picture in question was taken, then a series of pictures of the World Show, and last but not least "the best of the west". If you put your cursor on the thumbnail picture it pretty well tells you from what show the picture came from. The man holding up #33 is the first in line of the New Jersey show.

I was so shocked at the pic I didnt even see the writing come up at the bottom.

No, it has nothing to do with this thread and only fans the flames here.It' has absolutely nothing to do with this and should be deleted from the whole thread. If it's that important to you, have at it in another thread.

Keep your flag and your beliefs, I have nothing to say either way for or agaibst except maybe send me one or two flags as they seem a little scarce up here. I'll tighteen you up for postage and such.
