What's the biggest mammal you ever carved?

The Irish Elk was a biggy, but this big bull walrus takes the cake! I have been offering free "divorce time courses" and I have crews showing up. We are having fun and my big jobs are getting done. I will post more as this big piece comes together. 8)

Looking forward to seeing the progress you make. Polar bear yesterday and this today? Very inspirational.

I will post the bears when they are finished. This is just too cool not to share. I have 2 Australian buffalo and 2 Banteng on the go as well! Here is the 1st test fit.8)

Ken ! You could stop now and just make it a manatee. Very cool !

Thanks Brian, still love that fox you did! I hate mounting Walruses and if I wasn't making a pile of money I wouldn't do it. I remember the model department at the Smithsonian doing a Manatee model. Paul Rymers wife worked on it if I remember correctly. These Walruses are part of the fist order I ever took in that topped 100 K.

I've done some pretty big expansions and alterations but never carved anything large. Looks like you're well on your way Ken. Keep the pics coming if you will.

amazing work ken.....I worked on some large male fur seals back in the early 70's and still remember the fat issue....I can only imagine how hard it was to skin and flesh that monster....can't wait to see it finished....

  17. Well, not a mammal...not even a real mount. This 24 foot Burmese Python recreation from a couple years ago is the largest animal I've done so far. I named her Lady because of her dainty ankles :)
