Any interest in lizard skins?

Discussion in 'Reptile Taxidermy' started by WolfGirl, Oct 17, 2015.

  1. I have a adult bearded dragon and a juvenile savanna monitor that I will be using for skeletal use, any interest in the skins? The bearded will be missing claws and the head (to difficult to remove the skin intact) and the monitor will be missing claws and not sure on the head as I've never skinned one before. I also have another adult bearded skin, I can't remember its condition but I think its mostly just the back skin.
  2. By my experience, heads of bearded dragons (and other agamid lizards) can be skinned completely. Just be careful and use thin disposable scalpel blade.
Monitor heads can be skinned too, but I hadn't worked with small ones yet, only adults.
