Beginner here, fixing to attempt my first whitetail shoulder mount. I ordered all of the supplies for mounting the deer from Mckenzies, but I don't have a mounting stand. I didn't want to spend a couple hundred bucks on a stand until I know that I like taxidermy. My question is, will I still be able to produce good results with out using a stand?

  2. You can always go to your local hardware store and just get a couple sections of 2" threaded pipe and a elbow with a flange. Should be about $20 worth of materials

There are taxidermist who don't use stands at all. Can be done.

You may be so frustrated without a stand that you will hate taxidermy. I find it frustrating even with a stand. Lol
