Whizard trimmer

Discussion in 'Tanning' started by Rich P., Dec 17, 2015.

  1. Does anybody use a Whizard trimmer to flesh bears and other capes and how well does it work and what model do you have? Was kinda looking at one to make the job easier but at $2,500 new it has to work well.

    Thanks

I've had mine since they 2007. One of the most valuable tools in my arsenal. Makes the "crap work - AKA rough fleshing" bearable, as I can flesh all my capes in less than 1/2 the time. Here in AZ, it's imperative you get this work performed ASAP, as it's not uncommon for hunters to harvest their elk, deer, or bear in 90+ temps. At least I've got a fighting chance to beat the slippage, as long as I can flesh and salt faster. My 2 cents in a nutshell, I wouldn't be without mine.
