attaching a pheasant to a fence post

Discussion in 'Bird Taxidermy' started by ericd, Jan 15, 2016.

  1. Has anyone attached a flying pheasant to a fence post using barbed wire or somehow making fence wire. I just hate seeing my attaching wire and don't like putting the bird up against the post. are there any other ideas on how to attach a bird without seeing wires. thought if I used or made fence wire at least it wouldn't or hopefully wouldn't stand out so much. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated.

  2. you could extend the wing wire and attach it from their with the wing just touching the post, OR extend one wire out of a toe and make it look like ha is pushing off the post as the bird banks hard to turn,

Also, you can run a heavy wire out of the bird's rear end and conceal it between two of the overlapping tail feathers toward the side of the tail. The bird's tail will appear to be accidentally brushing the post but it won't look like it is connected.
