Relaxing after tanning?

    Does it work to relax a hide after it is tanned or will it not work? I know that it is supposed to be added to the pickle but just wondering if it still has some affect

    If you wonder why I ask. I was thinking it may help give a bit more stretch....

    add some baking soda to the rehydration mixture, this will help relax the cape and give you more stretch. I also use very warm water and stretch as I hydrate it.

    What are you trying to relax and add what into where to do this also.
