I've looked and can't find anything on ideas of making shipping containers for mounts.

There is at least one tutorial on this subject. I build a plywood crate for multiple animals and fasten them from the outside with sheet metal screws. Mark the box for opening at the top. I can get 3 or 4 mounts in a box that is 4'x4'x5' For one average size animal I suggest getting a cardboard moving box and put a base of 3/8s plywood for fastening the mount and then use 1x2"s in all of the corners for a rigid frame. There are lots of ways to do this depending on the materials in which you have access. It will ship well if the mount is secure and fastened well enough to avoid hitting the sides of the box when the gorillas get a hold of it.
