Trapper2016 Thanks for this awesome forum!

Hello everyone, and i hope you are having a great weekend.

I am completely new too the fish taxidermy world, and just recently ordered my first airbrush kit. Its a paasche and hopefully will be hear soon so that i can begin practice. I am really excited as i have always enjoyed painting and this opens up alot of new doors for me. I know that mastering the airbrush is very difficult and time consuming but i am going to put in the work. I recently purchased a video on airbrush basics and enoyed it, and now would like to purchase a video that is a little more in depth.

I doubt i will ever work on a skin mount (just doing taxidermy for enjoyment), so my primary focus is going to be practicing on blanks. When i look at the various DVD's out there, many of the beginner Dvd's cover skin mounting, but as i doubt i will get into that, i don't really wont to go that route. Does anyone happen to know of a good all around DVD that covers the steps taken from the point of purchasing/making a blank, to the final product? I am not particular on the type of fish being worked on, if there arent many of these type of DVDs to chose from. I see all the different species specific videos, and maybe anyone of them would be what i was looking for.

I apologize if this question seems stupid in advance.
Thanks for your time and have a great weekend
    Chris

Folks on here will more than likely post there favorite artists, but Any of the DVDs that cover painting reproductions that you can get from the major taxidermy supply companies are a great place to start. Each one offers different techniques and procedures from some of the best fish artists out there. The techniques covered in DVDs that cover painting skin mounts can also be used on reproductions. Pick any one of them and you can't really go wrong.
Keep in mind that reproductions are expensive to start with.
