    For people that do their own tanning what have you found is the best way to break hides.

    A shovel with a pointed spade part pointing up with the handle in a vice is what I have used to hand break deer and smaller hides.

    Pulling the hide Back and forth over a tight 1/8 cable.
     
  5. Two towels, four braided dog toys I use heavy balls. SKU060195-03.jpg Place the towels, balls, and hide into your dryer air fluff only no heat for an hour or more if needed, the hide will come out soft and pliable.
